60

Sixty is our number this weekend. As a child of the 1960s and now entering his 60th year, Randall stands at a powerful crossroads of time. We’ll explore the sacred numerology of 60 and reflect on the spirit of the '60s—a decade whose themes of love, counterculture, and awakening will echo throughout our gathering.

In numerology, the number 60 is a harmonious blend of the energies of 6 and 0, each carrying its own symbolic weight:

  Number

 6

Themes:
Home, family, love, responsibility, care, service, harmony.

It’s often called the "nurturer" number—a symbol of unconditional love, emotional depth, and devotion to community and relationships.

 Number

 0

Themes:
Wholeness, infinity, spiritual potential, the unknown, divine flow.

0 amplifies the energy of any number it’s paired with. In this case, it enhances the nurturing and loving qualities of 6 with a sense of spiritual openness, possibility, and new beginnings.

 60

Together, 60 represents:

  • A homecoming to what matters most: love, connection, and purpose.

  • A time of reflection and integration—bringing wisdom and warmth into the next phase of life.

  • A reminder to give and receive love freely, to nurture your chosen family, and to live in alignment with the heart.

  • An invitation to deepen into spiritual maturity while remaining open to what’s next.

Revolution, Revelation & Radiance

The 1960s

The 1960s were a wild, radiant eruption of change. A time when the world cracked open—and something new poured in: color, consciousness, rebellion, and love.

It was a decade defined by revolution and revelation. Civil rights marches and flower crowns. Anti-war protests and free love. Psychedelic awakenings and spiritual seeking. It was the birth of the counterculture—a movement that dared to dream of a more beautiful, liberated world.

At the heart of the '60s was the idea that life could be more: more connected, more expressive, more alive. Music festivals like Woodstock became sacred gatherings. Poets and prophets—like Ginsberg, Dylan, and Ram Dass—opened minds. Eastern philosophies merged with Western longing. Art, activism, and mysticism danced together in the streets.

The 1960s gave rise to the flower child, the mystic rebel, the peace-loving visionary. It was messy and magical, fierce and free. A time when people didn't just talk about love—they tried to live it, wear it, and shout it from rooftops. And now, decades later, that spirit still lives on—in gatherings like ours.

The Guadalupe River Ranch and Cattle Company traces its roots to 1793, when the Spanish Empire granted the land to the Hitzfelder family of Germany. Like many German settlers, the Hitzfelders came to Texas seeking opportunity, freedom, and safety, while also fulfilling Spain’s goal of promoting development and deterring Native resistance. The Mays family acquired the property in 1984 directly from the Hitzfelders, continuing a legacy of multigenerational gathering and stewardship.

Spanning over 1,600 acres, the ranch has become a cherished retreat for the Mays family—offering a peaceful escape from daily life and a place to reconnect with nature and one another. From riding across open fields and floating the Guadalupe River to gathering under the stars, the ranch is a sanctuary of connection and memory. Inspired by their love for Africa and conservation, the Mays have preserved the land as a wildlife sanctuary teeming with exotic animals, deepening its role as both a refuge and a celebration of life.

Also known as the Sacred Spirit Festival, Sufi Fest ultimately inspired the way we wanted to bring our weekend together . It is an intimate, invitation-only weekend held within the ancient walls of Nagaur Fort in Rajasthan, India. Preceding the larger public celebration in Jodhpur, this private gathering offers a rare and immersive experience in one of the most magical settings imaginable.

Set against the backdrop of centuries-old Mughal architecture, illuminated by thousands of oil lamps, the festival brings together master musicians from around the world in a transcendent celebration of sacred music, culture, and spirit. From traditional Sufi qawwals to global musical collaborations, Sufi Fest is a deeply moving reminder of the unifying power of sound and soul.
